The Stages of Finding, 2023–2024

The ongoing series reflects my transition from London to Berlin in 2022. Its title conveys the process of settling into a new city and expressing an unsteady emotional journey through a collection of representational sculptures.

The series commenced with Pulse, followed by Grab, Seed, and most recently, the work-in-progress Drift.

These pieces are my efforts to give physical form to recollections and experiences of movement and displacement. Unable to fully express myself through the various languages I speak, I started exploring new forms of expression to transcend cultural barriers. Through my work, I aim to capture and communicate the complexities of my multicultural identity and the nuanced experiences that come with it.

I seek to embody the emotional responses and personal experiences, using whimsical, sugar-coated textures to juxtapose raw, honest emotions with abstract, concentrated forms. These works are heavy yet hollow, hanging on the wall like monumental reliefs, telling universal stories of self-discovery.
